DESCRIPTION The Med-Tech Training Series is a comprehensive program designed to equip Med-Tech professionals and others with the essential skills and knowledge for safe and effective medication administration. This series covers a range of medication routes and dosage forms, focusing on best practices in long-term care and assisted living settings. Throughout the series, participants will learn how to properly administer oral medications, including tablets, capsules, and alternative routes like lingual, sublingual, and buccal, while ensuring accuracy and patient comfort. The training also includes techniques for administering rectal, vaginal, and topical medications such as suppositories, ointments, creams, and patches, with an emphasis on correct formulation handling and patient dignity. Inhalers and nebulizers are covered as well, with practical guidance on how to administer these devices safely and effectively, along with medication delivery for the ear, eye, and nose. Additionally, the series reinforces the importance of adhering to medication administration standards, ensuring safe medication storage, and implementing infection control measures. By the end of the training, participants will be confident in their ability to administer medications across various routes and ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.
